SH-Mobile ARM zboot

The ARM SH-Mobile platform currently defaults to using u-boot to boot Linux from various media. The aim of the work covered in this presentation is to allow Linux to be booted directly or used as a boot loader. This is achieved by modifying the loader portion of a zImage.

There are currently three media targets for this work:

  • NAND - included in 2.6.38-rc1
  • MMCIF (MMC) - included in 2.6.39-rc1
  • SDHI (eSD) - patch posted, targeted for 2.6.40-rc1
