Mailbox Migration

It is important that all mail servers are under a load proportional to their relative power. If one server is under a great deal of load then some of this load should be migrated to other servers. In addition, if a new server is added it may me necessary to redistribute users amongst servers. To do this, a measure of the usage of each mail server and the usage of each user of the mail server needs to be made. A simple way to archive this is to measure usage from logs recorded by the MTA, POP3 and where applicable IMAP daemons. In this example sendmail and cucipop logs are examined to generate a metric of mail usage.
